My thoughts on the Dior Haute Couture Fall 2012 Collection:
Obvi this red gown is very beautiful but I can’t say the same with so many of the other looks. I’m just gonnna come out and say it.. Couture that is sellable is boring. This collection was giving me ready to wear realness and I didn’t love it!
Call me old Fashion but I think couture should capture ones imagination and at this particular show I felt more captivated by all of the flowers on the walls than the looks themselves. Granted I swooned over the enlarged ikat gown and the oversized metallic blue and black polka dot gown but there just wasn’t enough enthusiasm in this collection for me. I can definitely see the pants under a gown looks becoming a trend…in ready to wear! I really had high hopes for Raf Simmon’s Dior debut and consequently this collection was far from the grandeur that I expect from the house of Dior.
